Your maybe “unscientific” but insightful observation of “teacher type” makes sense. Looking back, I see myself going through different stages: Content Expert at one point, evolving to Professional and now I am in a Relational stage. I’ve noticed how I used to sign up for any and every Professional Development course possible. Lately, nothing interests me in the way of new methodology. However, I feel more connected with my students, less rushed, more patient and empathetic. I’m inspired to embrace this stage and let go of the latest training and research, thanks to reading this piece.
